We wanted to create a place that makes it easy to experience the many restorative benefits this magical & chilled out part of the Costa Rican coast offers. The SERENE beach
Case Luna Beach House is right on the magnetic & mystical "black sand" beach, Playa Negra. It's virtually empty most days and is perfect for a long walk, contemplative strolls or a day of fun playing in the waves or the calm seas. This beach is truly restorative. The beach is right in front of our home across a small road. It offers shade or sunny areas to lounge by the water. The wave sizes vary depending on the season and weather, sometimes the sea is like glass and others it's a surfers paradise. When large they are great for body surfing, surfing and boogie boarding. When smaller they are perfect for cooling off, SUP boarding, kayaking and bobbing around in the surf. No matter what time of year the beach calls out and and brings us peace, serenity, connection and reflection.

The GOOD life in
Puerto Viejo
Puerto Viejo, Costa Rica is a Pura Vida (pure life) Caribbean vibe, beach front town that celebrates the joy of life. It will slowly get under your skin and you will not be able to avoid the vibrancy it brings. From the house to the town of Puerto Viejo it's a 20 minute walk along the beach, 5 minutes by car or 10 minutes by bike (rentable nearby).
Always look up! Often you can see howler monkeys or white faced monkeys quietly swinging through the trees. If not a monkey then possibly a two or three toed sloth slowly climbing her tree for a fresh feast of leaves. You might even see an iguana strolling along minding their business. Exotic birds are abundant. Great Green McCaws are newly populating the area so see if you can spot them.
Puerto Viejo is not for everyone. Please watch some Youtube videos on the town and it's vibe to get to know it better. It's not fancy but it has some fabulous restaurants which will give any foodie unlimited choices.
There are many beautiful beaches within cycling, walking or driving distance. Punta Uva being rated one of the top 10 beaches in the World. You won't find any high rise resorts in the area as Puerto Viejo prides itself on keeping the town and surrounding areas down to earth with a pure caribbean vibe.
If you love exploring the outdoors, beaches, adventure, hiking, bird watching or are animal lovers this is the place for you.
